The Italian Festival Committee is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to celebrating and promoting Italian culture and heritage in Darwin.

Our mission is to create an unforgettable experience that brings together the community through food, music, art and entertainment.

With a passion for fostering cultural exchange and community spirit, we work tirelessly to organise a biennial festival showcasing the best aspects of Italian life.

Our committee comprises individuals from the Italian community, most of whom are children and grandchildren of Italian immigrants who made Darwin home.

In the early 1990s, the Darwin Italian community held two Italian festivals to showcase the spirit and pride of Italian culture in the Darwin community.

The Italian Festival Association (IFA) then went on to hold its first biennial event in May 2013 on the grounds of Parliament House in Darwin.

Following the success of this event, the second Darwin Italian Festival took place in 2015 at Civic Park, in 2017 at the George Brown Botanical Gardens and in 2019 at Civic Park, attracting more than 20,000 people at each event!

The Italian Festival committee for 2025 look forward to bringing you another wonderful event!
